Armed Robbery Pollutes Freetown
As Xmas approaches, armed robbers have reportedly gone on rampage, attacking and ransacking homes of persons at Western Area and Western Rural District respectively.
Investigations conducted disclose how in two weeks the police have sent nine files to the court for prosecutorial actions. Of the nine files, twelve persons were arraigned at various courts to answer to charges put forward against them by the police, who were the prosecutors.
Matters were respectively tried at various courts.
Offences ranged from robbery with violence down to aggravation.
It is suggested that officials of the police and judiciary step up measures preventing the spate of armed robbery in society.
It must be noted that Sierra Leoneans abroad intend coming on end of year vacation and might be scared if the manner in which robbers infiltrate homes of the defenseless are not put to a halt.
In another development, a good number of school pupils have had themselves arraigned in wells of respective courts to answer to charges of riotous conducts and robbery with violence.
The prosecution of all school pupils came as a result of violence that erupted during the inter secondary school competition that was recently held at the Attouga Mini Stadium and the National Stadium.
