Police AIG Clears Name!

The attention of the Director of Police Crime Services, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Morie Lengor (in photo), has been drawn to a front page story titled “Police Tiffy Tiffy Deepens,” published by Sierra Express Media in its Monday 22nd edition.

The story seemed to imply that AIG Morie Lengor initiated the investigation on account of a report received from his driver Inspector Bayo.

AIG Lengor wishes it to be known that he did not at any point in time instruct the CDIID to mount an investigation on the issue as the paper seemed to suggest neither was he in any way involved in the whole affair.

The story is therefore a fabrication and very misleading.

AIG Lengor expresses regret that the writer of the story had no respect for accuracy which is the first guiding principle of journalism and as enshrined in the media code of practice.

Such, as published above reads verbatim, AIG Lengor’s erroneous rebuttal of what was seen as demeaning to his individual credibility.

Sierra Express Media outrightly and respectfully holds to esteem, the views of its readers and therefore follows guidelines as prescribed in the good books- journalism.

It must be noted that story named a shaming a senior police officer, whose wretched involvement in the stealing of vehicles belonging to, and owned by the Sierra Leone Police, has long been confirmed true by the police themselves.

The editorial team of Sierra Express Media as in one voice says kudos to erudite AIG Lengor.
