South Africa Name Squad for Madam Trophy
The SA Under-20 coach has named their squad that will participate in the African international Youth Tournament; the team have already assembled in Johannesburg on Sunday to prepare for the tournament.
Coach Khabo Zondo (in photo) said that the tournament couldn’t have come at a better time following the disappointment of elimination from the CAF African Youth Championship by Lesotho. This tournament has accorded him the opportunity to rebuild a new team that will contest the 2013 African Youth Championship. To this end, Zondo has assembled a relatively inexperienced but eager and determined Under-17 squad that he hopes will get a good grounding regarding the rigors and demands of African football at the international tournament in Freetown which gets underway on Saturday November 27. The South African’s will be up against the under 20 National team of hosts Sierra Leone, Gambia and Ghana. Also in the tournament are club sides, Ojoko of Nigeria, Diambars Academic of Senegal, FC Johansen of Sierra Leone and Barrack Young Controllers FC of Liberia.
