Disagreement to sell off Bangura

Sierra Express Media can reveal that some quarters of AIK football club don’t want the proposal to sell Sierra Leone Stars’ striker Mohamed Bangura out of the club.

Reports confirmed a few hours ago from various partners have rejected that open proposal. However, AIK want to sell off other players to investors.

“He is our single biggest name and some we have to keep extra hard, “said AIK’s chairman Mats.  “We consider him too valuable to be part of a player’s basket. This will not help us next season especially as Bangura is the fans player.”

It was a few weeks ago AIK AB presented the proposal to sell off stakes in Mohamed Bangura, known as equity loans. The proposal came as part of an effort to find quick sources of revenue for a financially hard pressed AIK.  But the proposal was quickly criticized by supporters as well as his agent, Patrick Mork and internal members in the club.

An equally urgent requirement was raised by supporters of the majority shareholders to vote against the board’s proposal to issue new share sales, and play with Bangura as the main piece, reports stated.

“Some criticism has been fierce and it is clear that we listened to the members, “said Goran.

“The board of directors was commissioned to develop various proposals for revenue when the club needs a cash situation and the proposal can be interesting – but not with Bangura as a part of it. Yes, it may be necessary that we sell the shares in four other players – so many players that are supposed to be included in a basket.”

“We will see if or when there is a possibility. But there is a possibility.  That I believe and hope. We have in addition to Bangura many other exciting and promising names.
