Gyan outclasses Drogba in the Bridge

Sunderland’s Asmoah Gyan (in photo) was on target again for his Sunderland side in the English Premiership against defending champions and league toppers Chelsea.

The Ghanaian striker is one of three Black Stars players to make the shortlist for this year’s CAF Award and if a game is anything to go by, he looks set to clinch the award ahead of Ivory Coast Didier Drogba who was nothing but a passenger in the Stamford Bridge encounter.

Asamoah’s goal also helped to reduce the Blues Premier League lead cut to two points by Arsenal as they lost a third league game this season also put an end to goalkeeper Czech home record.

This is the sixth goal for the Ghanaian international as he celebrates with his traditional dancing in front of Sunderland fans.

Though Gyan leading his Ghanaian trio will face stiff competition from some of the continent’s most renowned players especially Inter Milan’s Samuel Eto’o Fill and the Ivorian Didier Drogba who was top scorer in the English Premier League heading into the World Cup, but with his recent performances. Who knows?

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti admitted his side’s humbling 3-0 defeat by Sunderland was the worst performance in his time at Stamford Bridge.

The winner will be revealed at an award Gala in the Egyptian capital Cairo on December 20.
