Despite 5-0 defeat in the first leg encounter against the DR Congo Mazembe a fortnight ago, Hamdi Meddeb, President of Esperance has stated that his side has not given up on their Orange CAF Champions League title ambitions.

Esperance will faced an uphill task of scoring six goals with the visitors response, Mazembe going into this game positive in the Rades capital.

This is what the President told Journalist in Tunis.  “Our morale is high and we are stronger than ever. We have never given up. The players feel the same way. “Their character is as strong as steel. I have told them to be fair play in order to avoid any unnecessary frustration that might work against us,” he affirmed in an interview with Infosfoot.net.

The Esperance President reiterated that his charges will fight till the very end, adding that the Management and technical team are working on the psyche of the players.

“You can be certain that we will fight to the end. I will be with my players day and night as we know how to get through this difficult and painful time.”

Esperance arguably the most decorated club in Tunisian football history have take over the premier continental title once in 1994. Esperance were also losing finalists in 1999 and 2000.

Meanwhile, African reigning club champions TP Mazembe of DR Congo will be flying to Tunisia on Thursday ahead of the all awaited Orange CAF Champions League final.

After spending a week of preparation in Belgium, the Crows and their entire staff will be arriving in the Tunisian capital in time to acclimatize before Saturday’s face-off at the 65,000-seater Stade.

Mazembe Chairman Moïse Katumbi chose to fly down on Saturday morning. With a five-goal advantage from the first leg in Lubumbashi, Mazembe are in a very strong position to defend their continental title.
