AFFORD assembles investors in another investment conference

Barely one year after Sierra Leone organised one of Africa’s most successful investment conferences in London, another one is in the pipeline with the same purpose of not only attracting investment into Sierra Leone, but also serving as a constant reminder to what was left of the last investment conference.

And although the organisers African Foundation for Development (AFFORD) are different, the November 15th 2010 conference is expected to attract high profile personalities most of whom have not only consented to attend the all-important ceremony, but have also given the green light to ensure that the programme ends up being a major success story.

AFFORD is organising the event tagged: “Investing in Africa – Business Success in Sierra Leone,” to showcase successful business investment in Sierra Leone.

Among those expected to grace the event are the Director of The Idea Group – Mape Project, the Managing Director of Mount Aureol Freight Company, and a Director from Standard Chartered Bank – the oldest commercial bank in SL.

The Keynote Speaker of the event will be a Member of Parliament (Conservative Party) Margot James, also member of The Business Innovation and Skills Committee.

His Excellency the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Edward Turay will serve as Distinguished Guest Speaker.

It could be recalled that government alongside partners from around the world held a successful Trade and Investment Forum at the Queen Elizabeth 112 Conference Hall in London.

The conference was a successful story that has seen potential investors storming Sierra Leone for business.

An executive member of AFFORD said even though they are celebrating Global Enterprise week, they want to seize the opportunity to remind the world about Business Success in Sierra Leone  and that  Sierra Leone is “still open for business.

A representative of the Sierra Leone Investment Promotional Agency (SLIPA) is expected to grace the occasion as one of the speakers.

The venue for the event will be The Royal Commonwealth Society on 25 Northumberland Avenue WC2N 5AP.
