Vice Chairman Salieu Conteh appeals for peace and unity (as the ten solid months rolled by)
Comrades: Take your minds, bodies and souls off all the personal attacks and the bickering, let’s concentrate and debate on the things and political issues our President is doing and how we as a branch can lay out strategies to win the 2012 General Elections, a contribution that will make us proud. The current ruling party (APC) needs to have enough seats in Parliament for our President to continue doing the good things he does now for our country. In the other hand, the SLPP party is busy targeting MPs that are vulnerable in their Constituencies. The SLPP members are positioning themselves and using every page from the book the APC party that records the road map to win the 2007 General Elections.
Currently, these SLPP members are scavenging every corner in the United States, galvanizing and raising funds for 2012. A couple of weeks ago, we all saw the plans they laid out for the party, thank God the Almighty the APC party is a very diverse party, that transcends beyond tribal boundaries, someone was able to lay his hand on that plan which was posted in our forum.
You don’t have to be a paid Personal Adviser to the President or the Government, you can advise them through this medium, if you use it for the purpose it was created for. Comrades, let’s debate our disagreements and still be APC comrades not enemies when we meet at APC functions. If we as a Branch do a clean and intelligent debate on our forums that will benefit our branch and the party as whole, believe me some of these Literatures will be compiled for reference purposes, which will benefit the APC party in the future.
I want us to think about Fundraising, our opponents are busy raising funds to challenge the APC come 2012. By the grace of the Almighty, President Ernest Bai Koroma will surely WIN but what about our Members of Parliament. You have to have a clear Majority to govern. Let’s think about that for a moment. We have people in North America that have already expressed their interest to RUN come 2012. We have to find ways how to help them, they are our fellow Diasporas. We Diasporas’ must have enough MPs in Parliament that we as a Branch will sponsor to represent us in the Sierra Leone Parliament.
These are some of the things we should be thinking about to become productive APC members, a record that will make us proud. Debate political issues not our personal baggage that we all go around with every day. No one is clear of personal baggage but let’s try hard to keep them out of this forum, the APCNA forum.
We are all APC and no one is more APC than the other. We are Ninety-nine percent in agreement when it comes to the APC that we all LOVE. Only one percent divide us, let’s don’t allow that one percent to destroy that very personal relationship that we took many years to build. That relationship is what makes us be APC today and that is what will make us continue to be APC tomorrow.
Remember Comrades, UNITY IS THE STRENGTH THAT WILL HOLD US TOGETHER AS APC, AS A BRANCH AND AS A CHAPTER. WE NEED EVERYBODY ON BOARD, POLITIC IS A NUMBER GAME. WE CAN WIN IF WE HAVE THE NUMBER. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GOOD WORK YOU ARE DOING FOR THE PARTY.
