According to reports from Freetown, Sierra Leone, Trelleborg Defender the former FC Kallon aggressive player, Ibrahim Marcel Koroma is in a dilemma over a suspected ligament strain. (Photo: Marcel against Bafana 2008)
The player was said to limp off during a training encounter with the Sierra Leone Under-23 side at the National Stadium past Wednesday night. The player is surely in doubts for this all important encounter this Sunday.
This is not bright news for fans and all those concerned because Koroma is one of the main players in Coach Cole’s squad to face Bafana, though the technical team is claiming there are very good replacements for the Trelleborg defender but that is yet to be proven. Meanwhile, The South African Football Association (Safa) has admitted that it is unsure on the status of Steven Pienaar’s reported injury following a vague posting on Everton’s official website. The Toffees and Bafana playmaker has been ruled out of Sunday’s crucial AFCON qualifier in Sierra Leone due to a groin problem.
However, his club Everton on Wednesday described Pienaar’s injury as ‘unknown’ without revealing when he would return, while comprehensive details were provided for the rest of the club’s sidelined players.
“It’s all rather strange,” Sanyane said on the Sowetan website.
