‘We must win the derby’ Bangura laments after defeat!
Sierra Leone native Mohamed Bangura has said his side needs to win in their derby match against Djurgarden this Sunday; he made this disclosure to journalists just after his side were defeated Helsingborg again at home.
Pobosky’s AIK lost by 2-3 at home to league runner up Helsingborg’s IF in a match that AIK dominated for the large part. Mohamed Bangura gave his squad another superb performance, it was 2-2 with less than one quarter left; Helsingborg had the final say when Chris Anderson hit a free kick at the goal in the 81st minute.
“We need it,” Bangura said, “We must win the derby. We must. If we play like today, then we have a chance to come out victorious. We need a lot of focus and confidence in a game like this.”
Coach Alex Miller was also pleased with the AIK player’s performance in their defeat last night, he is on the same track as Bangura.
“We came up to a good start today and we must continue to play like this. If we do we will win more points than we lose,” said Miller.
Mohamed Bangura limped out after the match and was later found with a bouquet of flowers in his hand, after receiving the prize of the home team’s best player of the night, he sighed heavily and said, “ I feel bad. These silly goals…” He was referring of course to Helsingborg’s three goals that metered AIK’s 14th loss of the season.
“It’s not good that we let in these goals … we work hard to score. It’s individual mistakes,” said Bangura who sees a need to win match in the upcoming derby when AIK meets Djurgarden at Råsunda on Sunday.
