Pass mark for Defence Minister – soldiers say
Soldiers that spoke in agreement of confidentiality confirm the score sheet of the Defence Minister as pass mark to President Koroma’s doctrine of performance conduct of ministers.
Interviews conducted have shown glaringly that senior and junior officers of the military prefer Minister Palo Conteh (in photo) than all the previous ones.
According to the soldiers, facilities due them that were long squashed have started reaching them.
That the supply of rice to all, access to canteens by all, good uniforms, equity in the appointments of persons for international peace missions and the swift and transparent conduct of promotions for all, is but the goodies they now enjoy under Palo’s ministerial leadership.
Although others say they are faced with bullying by senior officers, it was confirmed that recently officers were promoted and made to enjoy appreciation for good work.
Sources say a good number of soldiers favour the present Defence Minister and have accredited him as ‘best of bests.’
A credible state house source has told Sierra Express Media that the Defence Minister is one of President Koroma’s better performing ministers.
It was further revealed that the Ministry of Defence unlike other ministries score high in ratings of the President’s ministerial positions and the Defence Minister stands high and tall.
Efforts to reach at Palo Conteh for comment on issues bordering on his ministry proved futile.
