Deputy Health Minister to face trial for assaulting soldier
The editorial desk of Sierra Express Media has received cogent information of the readiness of the police to bring to book the Deputy Minister of Health, who was recently accused of assaulting a Naval Military Corporal.
Sources say a team of police investigators at Ross Road Police have obtained statements from the complainant, Corporal Sheku Bao, the Deputy Minister of Health, Mohamed Daudis Koroma (in photo) and persons identified as Close Protection Guards.
It could be recalled that few weeks ago the deputy minister and Naval Corporal Sheku Bao traded abuses against each other along Kissy Road, east of Freetown.
The confrontation, according to findings, brought to light a complaint of wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm against Corporal Sheku by the Deputy Minister and his body guards.
At the time of going to press, the Sierra Express Media received credible information confirming the police report sufficient findings of brutal and unwarranted attack of Minister Koroma against Corporal Sheku.
Quoting from a letter of reaction of Corporal Sheku to a letter of complaint forwarded to the Army Chief of Defence Staff by the Deputy Health Minister, it was confirmed that on the day of the incident, the said Minister was observed willfully obstructing the free flow of traffic along Kissy Road and that on a number of occasions, he was observed directing invectives at other users of the road attempting to caution him of wrong doings.
This, to Corporal Sheku, was the cause of his approach to have the Minister park his vehicle correctly to avoid obstruction to traffic.
Although Minister Koroma denied assaulting Corporal Sheku, the medical report in the police file explains the assault leading to the wounds.
The matter, we are told, will soon be sent to the court for judicial findings.

I burst into laughter when I read that Mohamed Daudis is the right hand man of H.E. Koroma. I know that one is written by himself. We want him to know that he’s not an honourable. He’s a dishonourable minister who has no respect for the rule of law – The President is a perfect gentleman who would never encorage people going around giving his gov’t. a bad name.

On no account u can take the law into your own hands. In America, even the president is not above the law and so to speak, let Hon Koroma face the law and his chances of becoming a full minister is now in the gutter.Another Wako!

I think Mohamed Koroma should face the law like the late Hon.S.B Marah. S.B assaulted a police officer who was on duty and the nation stood behind the poor police man until justice prevailed. So, why not Mohamed Koroma ? It’s good that Ernest Koroma is planning to reshufle – We hope all the fools, stupid and arrogant ministers discrediting our hardworking President will go this time. Ministers fighting in the streets or causing nuisance should be taught a lesson….those days are gone, the people should be treated with respect.
