Two Brits molesting Sierra Leoneans – a call to nationalism and patriotism
Two British nationals who happened to be ex-service personnel, Mick O’ Connor and Mike King who have been in Sierra Leone for some time now with dubious business intentions which turned out to be a mess largely due to their poor human relations, are bent on demoralizing innocent citizens of this country who are not happy with the way and manner these two foreign nationals are behaving to Sierra Leoneans. We expect the powers that be to handle this matter with all seriousness, paying more attention to their business activities vis-à-vis the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Sierra Leone is a peaceful country and has a liberal atmosphere for business ventures but we do not entertain people insulting or harassing the lives of people with the expectation of benefiting from the light of the day; this is true of these two British nationals.
One of them, Mick O Connor, in his personal blogspot (web dialogue) which can be linked via mickthewanderer.blogspot.com discusses his life in Sierra Leone. The blogs are so demoralizing, using all sorts of negative words about the British High Commission, Sierra Leone Immigration, police force, judiciary, and the families of his dated girlfriends.
Unlike the Zenith Bank female MD who only attacked journalists and likened her salaries to our ministers, Mick O’ Connor, who writes comments in his blog that are extremely damning about everything in Sierra Leone.
In his conversations, he called Sierra Leone a ‘shit country’ and mentions the ‘bastard police.’ He attacked lawyers, scorned on female indecency and dishonesty and described the Sierra Leone Police as corrupt, the Administrator General’s office as being ineffective, and the like.
To prove me right or wrong I would like the general public to make a personal visit to mickthewanderer.blogspot.com which I believe will serve as a good food for thought.
With regards the other, Mike King, he is a household name in Sierra Leone, known for his crooked and other bad misbehaviors to people of this nation.
This man started with Group4 Security Company but was thrown out of office because of bad behavior. Last weekend he molested a Sierra Leonean at Mamba Point, an entertainment complex at Wilberforce, using all sorts of invectives.
A couples of months ago, Mike King was arrested with an AK47 riffle on board his Rock Fish boat together with his son, Dave King, but they were later released, walking with their heads held right up there.
It is also greatly rumoured that these two had allegedly been involved in a drug scam which landed them at the Pademba Road maximum prison.
It is alleged that this man is still using a tourist visa which he came with in Sierra Leone which contravenes our immigration laws, particularly when he has been in this country for years without renewal and even his residential permit is said to have expired long since.
However, with regards these two Brits, Mick O’ Conner and Mike King, this press has been investigating their activities as the press remains the voice of the voiceless. We respond to the call for nationalism and patriotism and that the people of this nation wouldn’t like to live a life of humiliation, and as long as these two folks are in our society, we remain vulnerable.

Are these blogs still in the shores of sierra Leone?were they charged with any weapon possession when they were arrested?if not,i guess he was right when he said that the police are bastards and corrupt because if it was any foreigner in Britain, especially of African decent would have been arrested, charged, convicted, jailed and deported by all means possible. As for the immigration department,if it’s true that this guy is running around on expired tourist visa and also didn’t renew his residential permit he has all right to call them all sort of names because they are not doing their job in the first place. If these guys are still around, let us form a mob and lynch these A**Holes Mother F*****’s back to Britain. All this is a result of our brothers and sisters stooping so low to these foreigners and sell their birth right for coco en yebe.THAT’S ALL I HAVE TO SAY FOR NOW!!!!!.

You stated it is alleged and ‘ greatly rumored ‘ that the individual has not renewed his immigration status. I would like to see facts and not allegation.
2nd September 2010If it is true then yes they need to take immediate care of it or face consequences of deportation.
I don’t agree with their view of Sierra Leone and its people, however they have freedom of speech and a right to their opinion. How on earth can an entire Nation be vulnerable to the humiliation of two British men ? Sierra Leoneans are much stronger than that and most will not consider themselves oppressed nor victims because they are aware of the fact that no one can make you feel any less unless you allow them to do so.
If you start calling for deportation or jail time on grounds of criticism of your country and silly blog entries, then
you are not patriotic at all because Sierra Leone is supposed to be a democratic country heading for improved freedom of speech….which you as a journalist should first and foremost understand. Pull up your big boy panties and don’t patronize their businesses. That would be more effective. You are stronger than you think and better than allowing this to affect you the way it evidently has. Or is there perhaps a personal grudge ?
Sorry but this sounds like pikin wahala to me.

This is a case of deportation as it is in Europe. This people dont joke with us there and why is our Government letting them in to cause havok. Bundle the things in the plain and send them back to the UK I am ready to set up fund raising to pay their tickets back to the UK but firstly send them to Pademba Road prison for immigration malpraticis and after one year deportation.
