Six magistrates transferred

The Sierra Leone judiciary under the leadership of Justice Umu Tejan Jalloh has transferred six magistrates and court clerks to various parts of the country.

The six magistrates are Komba Kamanda, Manuela Harding, Binneh Kamara, Alford Fidawi, JO Wellington and Tonia Barnet. These magistrates have already resumed duties in their respective courts since 1st August 2010 while the Court Clerks will start duties on 1st September 2010.

The Master and Register of the High Court, Elwyn Bailor said the transfer of magistrates was not a new thing because, according to him, it is a normal routine for the transfer of staff which he said is aimed at bringing sanity in the organization as he believes that all the magistrates and court clerks are professionals in their field and they will always live up to expectation in their new courts.

The transfers are as follows:

Magistrate Komba Kamamda from Kenema to Makeni;
Manuela Harding from Makeni to Freetown court No5
Binneh Kamara from Waterloo to and presiding over Freetown Court No 4
Tonia Barnet from Freetown Court No. 5 to Waterloo and also in charge of juvenile court
JO Wellington from Court No.4 to Court No. 2, and
Alford Fidawi from Freetown Court No. 2 to Kenema.
