The auspicious occasion chronicled the second leg of an engagement bliss where the couple tied the preliminary knot in a prelude to what we envision will be a lifelong relationship. The occasion attracted an august and dignified gathering of relatives of the bride and bridegroom, friends, functionaries, mentors, and a cross section of well-wishers from all walks of life. The venue was at the Great Hall at 10010 Greenbelt, MD 20770 (Good Samaritan Lutheran Church). The atmosphere was electrifying and agog with excitement. Leaves lost their turgor as the music euphoria reverberated and pierced the still mid night air. The D J was a music guru as his selections left the crowd spellbound and devoid of breath. Social pundits intimate that the fanfare that surrounded the bridal shower that unfolded that night was rated second to none in organizational planning, music choice, entertainment and complexity that the metropolitan has seen over a long period of time.
In his keynote addresses were, the Chair-lady of the occasion: Mrs. Iysatu Jalloh (mother of the bride) the Chairman was Mr. Essa Thaim Kurugba Kamara (father/uncle for both) thanked the attendees for sacrificing their time in responding to the invitation in spite of their crowded engagements. He lavished praises on the organizers for what he described as a formidable effort and a brilliant display of organizational acumen. Mr. Kamara was even more forthcoming on the couple.”
“The couple”, he said both of whom hail from Kawula- Masumgbala Chiefdom, Kambia District. This couple comes from a strict and orthodox family. He added that the birth of their soon-to be child which will obviously follow the formal public proclamation of their couple ship is a clear testament of the order of business typical of people from disciplined backgrounds. “Their child will not be born out of wedlock.”, he concluded. Both Mrs. Iysatu Jalloh and Thaim Kurugba speeches were punctuated from time to time with tremendous ovation. (Photo: Iysatu Jalloh M.O. Bride)
Momentarily, the couple gracefully took the high table after a special dance. A thunderous and deafening applause swallowed the hall. They were such a compatible union. Special prayers were invoked for God’s continuous guidance for the couple, food were self-service, eat, drink and dance.
