Golden Jubilee, Golden Opportunity : 50th Anniversary Celebration & Commemoration Calling On Sierra Leoneans!
The occasion of our beloved country’s 50th Independence Anniversary gives all Sierra Leoneans and friends of Sierra Leone an ideal opportunity to come together as one.
The Sierra Leone High Commission in London has been tasked by His Excellency the President to take the lead in the official Golden Jubilee celebrations in the United Kingdom.
To this end, under the directives of the High Commissioner who is Chairman of the Steering Committee, the Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Tamba Mansa Ngegba has been hosting a series of consultative meetings to plan a series of events that will last throughout 2011.
These events will celebrate every facet of our great country’s heritage and point the way to a great future.
The Sierra Leone High Commission wants to make it categorically clear that it is the responsibility of the High Commission to organise such an event and contrary to widespread speculations, no individual group is spear-heading this venture.
The mission is therefore calling on all Sierra Leoneans in the United Kingdom and other accredited countries (Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden), to come together and brainstorm towards making this event a memorable and historic Golden Jubilee celebration.
The High Commission is also pleased to inform the general public that His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has consented to grace these all-important celebrations.
Let us pull our ideas, energy and talent to make sure this is an overwhelming success.
Would you like to find out more? Would you like to volunteer your time and talent?
It’s about time for us to speak with one voice! Let us put back the ‘ONE’ in Sierra Leone
Let us seize the opportunity and make it happen – come and join us in this spirit of togetherness.
