My utmost priority for youth is education – says youth ambassador
Sierra Leone’s Youth Ambassador, Anthony Navo Jr has said in Freetown that his utmost priority for youths in this country is education.
Speaking at a one-day symposium organized by the Children United for Attitudinal and Behavioral Change campaign at the Sierra Leone Library Board Rokel Street, the youth ambassador noted that choosing a career is a huge responsibility for both men and women since all are socially conditioned to value one’s own careers very highly and to mix once egos into work.
Lecturing on the topic ‘How to Choose a Career’, Mr. Navo Jr. disclosed that one’s career is a very important part of life and that one should not downplay its significance as a good career is one of the biggest blessings one will experience while a bad career is one of life’s greatest curses.
“Many have felt the weight of their choice as this is common with students in choosing their area of studies as the questions that should be asked before choices are made were never asked,” Navo noted.
Dilating on the danger that surround a negative career, the youth ambassador observed that any bad career one chooses in life is bound to suffer for it as all bad decisions sting a bit and hurt a lot as its has the potential to bring one down a lot as it can easily affect an individual health and relationship.
In most cases, it is an ugly sight to hold the stress.
Even with a lot of conscious thought, the ambassador continued, the right career is very difficult to make as one will never understand the kind of decision until the choice has been made as it is very challenging to hit upon the right career even with deliberate, conscious intent.
The youth ambassador advised all to choose education as mistakes are bound to come in making the choice but with education one will refine the thought processes, hence improve his decision.
