OKSA Fundraising Dance Extravaganza

Saturday July 24, 2010 was a joyous day for members and friends of the Old Kolenten Secondary School Association (OKSA) of the Metropolitan Area.   Droves of the school alma mater converge at the Mirage Hall at University Boulevard in Maryland to dance to the ecstasies and melodious tunes of African, Reggae and variety of soul searching music.  The Master of Ceremonies was Dr. Sheik Gibreel who kept the program on schedule and gave a brief synopsis of the history of OKSA.

In his opening remarks, the current Secretary General of OKSA, Mr. Sidie Sheriff gave a hearty welcome to attendees of the fund raising program and asks them to enjoy to the melodious music and sumptuous delicacies that was served during the occasion.  Indeed, the occasion was mesmerizing, heart-rending and filled with fun and memories of the past.  What looks compelling was the meeting of old class mates and school mates recollecting activities of the past.

The current Chairman of OKSA, Mr. Hassan Baraka for his part highlighted achievements the organization has initiated in helping Kolenten Secondary School.  He further intimated about the multi-purpose building OKSA World-wide is about to erect in Kambia which will coincide with the golden jubilee celebration of Kolenten Secondary School in 2011.  He called on members and friends of Kolenten to give unflinching support for the realization of the project by 2011.   Two OKSA members who came from Australia and England respectively were also recognized during the program.  The fundraising program also featured Dandogo, a comedian from the professionals.  His hilarious comedy sent the audience laughing out their guts.   The program was climaxed by a variety of beautiful and terminated at 4:00 am.
