Swedish champions AIK Solna sign Sierra Leonean Bangura

The 21-year-old has been on loan at IFK Varnamo, in the third tier of Swedish football, since March and scored 12 goals in 13 appearances.

Bangura has signed a contract which will keep him at the club until 2014.

“I don’t know how to express my happiness for joining the very top team in Sweden at the moment,” Bangura said.

“I’m extremely delighted and I’ve started realising my dreams of becoming a top professional footballer playing at the highest level in Europe.

“This is a stepping stone to realise my big dream of playing in a bigger team in a bigger league in Europe and I know I’ll make it.”

The player’s Swedish agent, Patrick Mork, said Bangura be registered to play in the European Champions League.

Bangura is the second Sierra Leonean player on the move in recent in Europe after Sierra Leone defender Ibrahim Kargbo signed for FC Baku in Azerbaijan from relegated Dutch side Willem II, also for an undisclosed fee.
