Concerned SLAJ Member
As a member of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) I am very much concerned about the unsavoury development that is taking place within our esteemed association.
Given the recent press releases emanating from the SLAJ President Alhaji Umaru Fofana and the National Secretary General Mustapha Sesay, we have sensed deep animosity between the two which by all indications will not augur well for the unity, peace, development and smooth administration of our beloved association.
This perceived acrimony has not only remained within the executive members but has now been brought to the public domain by way of publication and counter publication in some newspapers. In view of the above, I am calling on our president to summon an emergency general meeting where the two members should endeavour to explain their grievances to the general body with a view to paper the cracks for the furtherance of our association.
We are calling on all SLAJ members especially our ELDERS to attend the said propose meeting when convene by our President with a view to find a lasting and permanent resolution to the looming crisis.
I wish to also call on our elders to intervene immediately as the issue has the potential to undermine the successes gained by the current executive which we are all proud of.
The priority of every SLAJ member must be the unity and progress of our association, and the need to love and respect one another.
LONG LIVE SLAJ.    LONG LIVE UNITY.
Thanks
Amara Samura, Concerned Member SLAJ/ Outgoing SLRU President
