Africell brings 18 to grand finale

The battle of the titans in the Africell “Weight in Cash” promotion will take place today at the company’s Headquarters at 1 Pivot Street, Freetown. The eighteen qualifiers will witness a manual draw that will be done by a guest of honour at the company’s brand new studios.  The lucky qualifiers include: Hassan Koroma, Mamoud Mans Kanu, Brima Kalokoh, Abdul A. Ismail, Harouna Thallay, Cecelia Senessie, Abubakarr Bangura, Santigie Kabia, Jedida Johnson, Sheku Sesay, Andrew Kamara, Bundu Sesay, Chernor Abdulrahman Jalloh, Sahr Tengbeh, and other qualifiers that will shoot on the goal post today.

Today’s winner will join Mohamed Mansaray who won Le 39,000,000; Adekalie Conteh who clinched Le 54,000,000 and Mohamed Bah who bagged Le 35,000,000.

In his address during Saturday’s draw, Africell’s Head of Events and Sponsorship, Arthur Bockarie Kallon, disclosed that the promotion which is held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, will end today, Tuesday 13th July 2010.

He admonished subscribers to stay connected as more promotions are on the way. Africell, he said always create but never imitates.

Prior to today’s draw, all eighteen qualifiers will write their names, phone numbers and addresses on pieces of papers, placed them inside a transparent jar that will be shaken well by the Guest of Honour who will then pick a single slip and announce the winner.

Mr. Bockarie Kallon said each of the winners has already been given three chances on the penalty spot to hit their target of Le 250,000 or Le 750,000. He noted that subscribers who recharged at least 250units in a day qualify for the draw.

“In conducting the bi-weekly draw, the qualifier will be placed on one end of the scale and at another end of the scale, money. We will continue to put money on this part of the scale until it suppresses his/her weight, that is ‘your weight in cash,” says Mr. Kallon. At the end of the exercise, he said, the money that is weighed parallel to your weight will be the prize the winner will take home. He reiterated the fact that if subscribers adhered to the dictates of the promotion they will be building their future. He encouraged those are not yet onboard the network to do so forthwith, as more opportunities are on the way for the Africell family.

Furthermore, another promotion that continues to reward subscribers is the Africell Sunday Jamboree which is a promotional event composed of a six hour radio talk show that is held every Sunday at the Universal Radio and Skyy 106.6FM. Subscribers are given the opportunity to win the sum of five hundred thousand Leones by texting the answer of one or more of twelve questions asked to 1234. This follows a puzzle where six letters are sent out via SMS to Africell subscribers in different part of the country. A subscriber is expected to call family and friends from various locations to ask about the letters received. They are expected to gather these numbers and send them via SMS to 2000. The lucky winner will receive a cash prize of Le 2,000,000.
