52 Students released from police custody

52 students of the Sierra Leone Muslim Brotherhood Union have been released from police custody after vandalizing a 4-wheel drive belonging to the operation wing of D divisional head quarters Kissy and for also wounding 5 police officers including ASP Daniel Bongorh.

It all started when students of the Sierra Leone Muslim Union clashed with neighbours in the community over a portion of land which the school alleged belongs to them.

The police were called to resolve the disputes amicably but the student pelted stones at the police there by causing severe damage to five police personnel including their 4-wheel drive vehicle. The police in turn went on the rampage thereby arresting 52 students past Wednesday noon but were eventually released when councilor Alusine Corade Conteh intervened with the local unit commander supt Nepor Senesis since they were on exam.

Reports says that the windscreen was immediately paid for and the five police officers injured were treated at the Rokupa government hospital where two of them were hospitalized. Some of the injured police complained that they were not happy over the released of the 52 student because as stamens they ought to behave properly.
