Letter to the Editor – Sam-Sumana Put Your Boys Under Control

Dear Editor : I have decided to put pen to paper following the statement and threats made by Tamba Henry Fomba against journalists.

The truth is that this is just the tip of the iceberg. In the case of the journalists, he has the connections to have the international community putting pressure on the government. What about those of us who are living with Fomba in Yengema and everyday we are treated like animals and we are threatened and beaten and molested in front of our own children and kids. Is this the democracy that President Ernest Bai Koroma is talking of?

I believe that government and the Open Government Initiative should be brought to Yengema and for people to be given the chance to bring out their experiences under the present councilor.

Fomba has caused the beating of several people and some of them have been scrapped for life. He has ordered people to be ‘deported’ from his ward even though they have been residing there for years. He has caused a deep split in the town and he goes around seizing people’s diamonds even though these are just tiny gems to help meet the day to day life.

President Koroma; we are begging that you put Fomba under control before another trouble breaks out here as this man will not fear to kill anyone in this his political madness.

I hope the Koroma government will take action instead of leaving everything under the control of Sam-Suamana or John Yambasu as they are mostly not even in Kono and when they come they encourage the very people going about threatening our lives.

Please take action now!

On a final note, I am happy that the issue of Fomba and the Vice president has been brought out in the opening.

God bless you Mr. Editor and you men and women at Sierra Express Media.
