At last… Police promotions out this weekend
Competent sources within the Executive Management Board (EMB) of the Sierra Leone Police have confirmed over the weekend that the much talked about police promotions will be released this weekend.
Police sources disclosed that among the ranks to receive promotions include Assistant Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police. These are:
- ASP D.B. Kargbo, Support Officer ‘B’ Divisional Headquarters, Ross Road Police Station
- ASP J.J. Clarke, Officer Commanding Western Police Station
- ASP J.J. Johnson, Head of Police Band
- ASP. Lansana Conteh, Kabala Police Station
- ASP Santos Bangura, Ripoll West Office
- ASP Sanie Sesay, CID headquarters
- ASP Daniel Bongoh Operations Officer ‘D’ Division, Kissy Police Station
ASP Dennis, Officer-in-Charge New England Police Station is to be elevated to Superintendent of Police.
According to our source, those promoted from Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police are Inspector Franklyn Yayah and other Inspectors. The sourceadded that those that will be elevated from Superintendent of Police to Chief Superintendent of Police are:
- Supt. Memuna Bangura, Director of Community Relations
- Supt Amara Sesay, Director of Complaints Discipline Internal Investigation Department (CDIID)
- Supt. Nepor Senesie, Local Unit Commander of ‘D’ Division Kissy Police Station
- Supt. Ibrahim Koroma alias Size Man, Local Unit Commanding of Goderich police stationÂ
The sources further revealed that several police officers who have completed their Higher Teachers Certificate or Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree will be considered for promotion to other ranks especially those who are still police constables and sergeants and have impressively performed their official functions with distinction. They are Sergeant Moseray, Sgt. Bangura, Central Police Station, Sgt. Memuna, Eastern Police Station, Sgt. Steven Kandeh ‘D’ Division and a host of other constables and sergeants.
