Mobile phone thieves

They are everywhere, roaming the streets like lions on the prowl; but their favourite hunting grounds are the Mosque and Church services especially during crowded funerals.

For the nth time I was a victim of their exploits last Sunday. It was a very crowded memorial service with everyone looking dignified and carrying a morose countenance out of sympathy for the bereaved family. That’s when my attacker struck, between my seat in front and the church exit.

The double-SIM Samsung mobile phone, valuable because it contains 90% of my contacts was efficiently removed from my pocket.

I am doing the unusual of appealing to the friendly lady and mourner to return the phone mainly on account of the stored numbers. It was a lady because she still answers when I dial my number. This will cease because Zain have now given me a new number. The lady could drop it quietly in college chapel and our Mr. Jonah won’t even ask for her name.
