Salone goalkeeper saves the day for IFK Maryland

IFK Maryland’s Sierra Leonean new signing, Christian Caulker, dived to his right to save a penalty shot in the dying minutes to beat AFC Lancaster Lions 2-1 in the ongoing USA PRO league on Sunday night.

The Sierra Leonean made the most vital save for Christopher Saul side in the 88th  to denied Matthew strongman from the spot to level the score line  2-2 after the visitors were leading  but the goalkeeper’s save  was vital to give the Maryland club the three points.

The Former FC Kallon and Vernamo shot stopper said God helped him with the decision. “God is the only reason I made that decision, I did it with the power God gave me”. “I waited until the last second and looked the kicker in the eyes. He was not sure where to kick. Waiting for the shot was an advantage for me he told www.footballsierraleone.net.”

“The first half was tough for us, after we conceded an early goal but with team sprit we fought hard and scored two goals in the second half with  both goals been scored by William Gazzete their inability to gather the three points was excellent. “We played for a victory and we conceded a weird goal.  As the spectators saw, we played well. I congratulate my boys, it could not have been better than this he told he told the club website during the post match conference.”

This winning has seen IFK Maryland sitting comfortable with six points from two games, whilst FC Copperhead sit at the bottom of the log.  However IFK Maryland will host Fury on Sunday at the Latrobe Park at E-FORT Avenue.
