Plans to nullify Rodney Michael from FA presidential race

Sierra Express Media has been reliably informed that Rodney Michael one of the football heavy weight administrators will be dented heavily as a way of eliminating him from the FA presidential race slated for 30th June 2013.

The FA election has been a national issue which has long been politicized by the Youth and Sports Minister Paul Kamara, referring to Rodney as a white Sierra Leonean and also an SLPP member and that his government, the ruling APC will not allow Michael to be elected as the FA President.

The election has been postponed on several occasions and executive and other standing committees dissolved, leaving national football in anarchy and just this week a handful of individuals who have nothing to do with football have been approved as Normalization Committee Members responsible to run football and to organize election in June next year.

Recently an ex-PRO of the Football Association now Press Attaché to Belgium, Ojuku Sesay in a radio interview said this government (APC) will not allow an SLPP candidate to run football in this country.  Such a derogatory statement has angered football stakeholders who stated that football has nothing to do with politics.

The mandate of the Normalization Committee is final and sources within the FA and many football stakeholders, who are also supporters of the ruling APC, are boastful that they are sure that the Normalization Committee will never give Mr. Rodney Michael an opportunity to compete in June 30th 2013  FA presidential race. The one million dollar question on the lips of football stakeholders is has politics engulfed football or will Rodney Michael say bye-bye to football?
