SLPP North America hopelessly divided and on the verge of disintegration

The politics of division seems to have gripped SLPP North America. The party is hopelessly divided leaving many supporters very disappointed and almost giving up on their chances in 2012. The bone of contention is with the very unpopular Chairman of SLPPNA Augustine Fallay (in photo) who sources within SLPPNA claim has done nothing but divide the party for his own personal gain. Four of the five chapters on the East Coast are threatening to breakaway unless Fallay gives up the leadership. These four chapters make up about 70 percent of the SLPPNA membership but they complain that Augustine Fallay constantly refers to them as enemies because they disagree with his policies. Most members are now saying that they will not contribute to the party unless Augustine Fallay is booted out.  The divide and rule game has not spared J. J Saffa and John Benjamin. Members complain that during the past convention, Augustine Fallay and P.K. Muana were so bent of having their way that they accused J.J. Saffa and John Benjamin of taking bribes from Askia. As a result, Fallay has refused to send contributions made by SLPPNA members directly to party headquarters because they (including P.K. Muana), claim that the party headquarter will misappropriate the funds.

The division is so acrimonious and putrid that many members are reluctant to even make their views known lest they anger Fallay who has instructed Abu Saccoh the son of Dr S. B. Saccoh and Mohammed Sadu Bah the former legal adviser of APC to suspend anyone who criticizes him on the SLPP forum. The son of S. B. Saccoh has done just that. Recently Abu Saccoh suspended an executive member for exposing Augustine Fallay that he lied about being a practicing lawyer. This move has angered many people who argue that Fallay has hired APC operatives to silence genuine SLPPNA members.

SLPPNA is about to hold elections in August and to the jubilation of many SLPPNA members, a young candidate by the name of Christopher Sam has challenged Augustine Fallay. According to some SLPPNA members, Augustine Fallay immediately tried to kick Sam out of the fundraising committee for daring to challenge him. In addition Augustine Fallay’s spokesperson P. K. Muana has gone on the rampage insulting and intimidating anyone who dares support Sam. P.K. Muana had boasted that he would make sure Fallay goes unopposed. It seems SLPPNA is having none of that as the support for Christopher Sam keeps swelling. Members of SLPPNA are said to be determined to change the regime of Augustine Fallay.

Augustine Fallay has also been accused of promising Dr Kadi Sesay a block vote from SLPPNA if she would choose him as running mate should she win. As a result, most chapters have refused to supply the list of their membership to Fallay because they believe he is using them as bargaining chip. The way things are going, it seems SLPPNA is hopelessly divided and unless there is a change of regime, some members say Fallay will oversee the disintegration of the region.
