IG Sovula Embarrassed With Fake Ph.D.
The Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police, (IGP), Mr. Ambrose Michael Sovula was on Sunday 27th September 2020 embarrassed with a fake Doctorate Degree by Covenant College in the eastern city of Kenema. The Covenant College in Kenema invites the first gentle man of the Sierra Leone Police Force Ambrose Michael Sovula and conferred in him Phd in Christian Education which later turned out to be the worst embarrassment to the IGP in his life career as a police officer spanning for over forty years (40).
Upon his conferment of PHD Degree to the Inspector General of Police, Ambrose Michael Sovula, the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) issued a press release on the 28th September 2020 stating that their attention has been drawn to the award of unauthorized undergraduate and Honorary Post Graduate Degrees by the Covenant College in Kenema on Sunday 27th September 2020.
TEC informs the public that Covenant Hope College is accredited to offer only Certificates and Diploma Programmes accredited by the National Council for Technical Vocational and Academic Awards (NCTVA) and that it has not recognized any affiliation between Covenant Hope College and Grace International Bible University in Liberia and the United States of America.
The release frankly states that “The Commission therefore considers the award of degrees as illegal and unauthorized and as such, the degrees granted are therefore not recognized and cannot be used for gainful purpose in Sierra Leone.”
The release further that upon the breach of the TEC Act 2001 and its regulations (2006), in particular clause 11(1) and 12 on obligation of accredited tertiary education by Covenant Hope College; TEC therefore suspends Covenant Hope College accreditation with immediate effect, degrees awarded by this college are null and void and of no effect.
This shameful decision of Covenant Hope College to award the IGP Sovula fake PHD has brought down the moral of the hyperactive Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police.
This medium relentlessly tried to get the reaction of the IGP but all efforts remain futile.
