Blue Line Collaborates on Free Bus Service For School-Going Pupils
Blue Line Construction and Investment Company Sierra Leone Limited, a Sierra Leonean based Construction Company that specializes in road construction, buildings of all kinds and other engineering works has in collaboration with one of Sierra Leone’s finest philanthropists, Dr. Mohamed Tunde Macarthy popularly known as TUMAC, the CEO of TUMAC Group of Companies, provided forty buses for school going pupils across Sierra Leone as part of their support to His Excellency Brig. Rtd Julius Maada Bio’s Free and Quality Education drive.
The forty buses, which have been distributed across the country with Western area rural and urban having ten buses in total while the other districts in the country have their fair share each , will be transporting school going pupils across the country free of charge.
The free bus service, which is soon to commence after approval by the government and other relevant authorities within the transport and education sectors, will cover all Primary and secondary school going pupils who are in uniforms.
For the western area urban and rural districts, five (5) buses have been allocated to each district. The buses allocated to the east will be plying from Waterloo to Sackville Street while those in the west will be plying from PZ to Lumely.
The Free Bus Service, according to the company’s representatives forms part of their corporate social responsibilities to their country. The Sierra Leonean based company comprised Sierra Leoneans who made the bulk of their monies abroad and in turn come back to invest it in their own country as a way of giving back to their country.
‘’This is indeed a commendable initiative from the Blue Line Construction Company which certainly will reduce the transportation burden on parents who find it difficult on a daily basis to provide transport fares to their children’’, one education stakeholder stated in an interview with this medium adding that Blue Line Construction Company’s initiative is unprecedented.
