Two APC Members In Trouble in Sierra Leone
Report reaching Sierra Express Media indicates that the police have declared six members of the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) party including Sheka Kamara and Sorie Jalloh wanted for their alleged involvement in the peaceful demonstration that took place at the party headquarters at Old Railway Line, Brookfields, in Freetown on the 29 December 2018.
Hundreds of opposition supporters were protesting in front of the APC Headquarters against the continuous intimidation, harassment and arrest of former government officials by this present SLPP administration.
While the protest was ongoing that morning, three vehicles loaded with armed police officers stormed the scene and began firing tear gas cannisters at protesters right inside the office.
People started running for their lives and in the process over ten people sustained injuries while fourteen others were arrested and charged to court.
Six other party members including Sheka Kamara and Sorie Jalloh escaped to an unknown destination and police have declared them wanted.
Since President Julius Maada Bio took over the governance of the state on April 4 2018, his government has embarked on intimidating and arresting former government officials on the pretext of fighting corruption.
This negative development did not go down well with APC party members who decided to protest in front of their party office against such a situation.
