Sierra Leone Bar Association On The Roto Rata Commission Of Inquiry
The Sierra Leone Bar Association has in a letter dated 29th October, 2018, written to the country’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Madam Priscilla Schwartz, raised serious concerns over some of the provisions contained in the Constitutional Instruments that set up the Commissions of Inquiry.
According to the Association’s letter, some of the sections in the instruments are in complete contravention with section 150, Act No.6 of the 1991 constitution of Sierra Leone and therefore urges the Office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to take the necessary steps to ensure that the rules and practices governing the Commissions of Inquiry are established by the Rules of Court Committee in accordance with section 150 of the 1991 Constitution.
