Parliament Approves Three Presidential Nominees
The Parliament of Sierra Leone has on Thursday, 11th October 2018 approved another three Presidential Nominees.
The ceremony which attracted the attention of the general public was held in the well of Parliament.
Addressing Parliamentarians, Leader of Government Business, Hon. Sidi M. Tunis maintained that the three nominees have gone through interviews by the Committee on their educational background, tax obligation and other important areas.
He explained that during the 16th sitting of the Committee on Tuesday 9th October this year, they were happy to approve the following nominees, proposed Chairman and Board of Director for the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB), Dr. J.D Rogers. Hon. Tunis described Dr. Rogers as a Professional Economist who has wealth of experience in International Financial Banking and has also served as Bank Governor for the Bank of Sierra Leone until 2007.
The proposed Chairman for the Legal Aid Board (LAB), Hon. Justice Miatta Maria Samba is a Judge in the High Court of Sierra Leone and expected to use her wealth of experience in international and commercial law to transform the sector, said Hon. Tunis.
He also confirmed that the proposed Chairman and Board of Director for the Sierra Leone Road Transport Corporation (SLRTC), Madam Kaday Zookor is a Gender Activist and expected to use her expertise to unite and improve conditions and welfare of staff.
