SWASL Mourns Former President Mr. Sorie Sudan Sesay
18th June 2018 – The Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone (SWASAL) received with utter shock and disbelief the sad news of the demise of our former President Mr. Sorie Sudan Sesay (in photo), who suddenly gave up the ghost at the Royal Free Hospital in Hamstead London, on Sunday 17 June 2018 after a brief illness.
Mr. Sorie Sudan Sesay, who became President of SWASAL in 2002, pioneered the decentralization of the Association across Sierra Leone and was very instrumental in ensuring SWASAL secures its first office space at the Siaka Stevens Stadium Hostel.
The late Mr. Sorie Sudan Sesay can also be remembered as the former SWASAL President who was very generous to his beloved Association because as recent as December 2017, donated laptop computers, printer and plasma TV costing hundreds of Pounds Sterling which all four regions of the country benefited.
SWASAL extends our deepest condolences to the entire Sesay Family at home and abroad, the local Journalism Fraternity, the All Peoples Congress (APC) Party and friends for the irreparable loss. We encourage all to mourn with faith in these trying times of grief and pain.
SWASAL assures the public of our unflinching commitment and support towards a befitting funeral of our former President.
Rest in perfect peace Mr. Sorie Sudan Sesay and may light perpetual shine on him.
SWASL
