Lungi Airport Put On Alert No Escape For Former Gov’t Officials

Impeccable sources close to the corridors of power have confirmed to Sierra Express Media that authorities of the Sierra Leone Airport Authority (SLAA) have been ordered to put the Lungi International on alert to prevent certain people who served in the erstwhile All People’s Congress (APC) Government from fleeing the country as they have some questions to answer with regards their stewardship.

According to the sources that asked for anonymity, some former Government officials including ministers and heads of public institutions, departments and agencies have already packed their bags to flee amidst fears that the transition team set up by the new SLPP administration of President Brig. (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio to take stock of the past administration would ask them to make some clarifications on certain issues in their respective offices.

The Health Newspaper also gathered that authorities in the two neighboring countries of Guinea and Liberia have also been put on alert while a constant surveillance team at sea is also on alert.

Meanwhile, some former Government officials are reportedly visiting the British High Commission and the United States of America (USA) to put their travelling documents in order so that they would sneak out of the country to escape any arrest.
