Police Clear KKY as a Citizen of Sierra Leone!

The reactivation of the citizen’s Clause in the 1991 Constitution which bars citizens with double nationalities from vying for office as MPs, President, ministers and Vice President has been widely seen as one of the APC’s 99 tactics to create an uneven playing field in the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

Rumours had been making the rounds on social media that the leader of the NGC party, Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella had Australian and American citizenships which, according to the current electoral criterion disqualified him from running for office.

This police clearance has put all such speculations to rest. KKY is not a haf en haf  Sierra Leonean.
