Lawyer Cuffie wants Parliament again

Constituents of Constituency 126 formerly 109 have said that they will support Hon. Julius Nye Cuffie (in photo) to get the All Peoples Congress (APC) symbol to contest the 7th March, 2018 Parliamentary election to give him the opportunity to go back to Parliament a second time.

Hon. Julius Nye Cuffie is a practicing Lawyer and a product of the Prince of Wales Secondary School, the St. Edwards Secondary School in Freetown, and also a graduate from Fourah Bay College with Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Hon. Degree, a post graduate Diploma in Law and a Master of Law from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom.

Presently, he is an Associate Lecturer at the Department of Law, Fourah Bay College, University and a renowned disability rights activist for over twenty years. He was a Member of Parliament for Constituency 109 from 2007-2012.

During his tenure as Member of Parliament he provided scholarships for disabled children across the country, constructed two water wells in the Josben community which are currently being used as car wash centres and for domestic purposes plus another water well in the Dwozark community, a community market with toilet facilities with funds from the Sierra Leone Bottling Company, formerly the Cold Storage Company.

The disability rights activist facilitated the refurbishment of the New England road from Jomo Kenyatta Road junction by the Government Printing Department and the Dwozark Community Road from Pademba Road junction to Dwozark Community Field with funds from the Sierra Leone Government. The community centre has a multi-purpose hall, a day care, an internet café and DSTV facility with funds from the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA).

He also spent a lot of money to construct Philip Street, Rock Lane and a foot bridge and five transit points dust bin with funds from the Freetown Waste Management Company.
