Wahala! Another driver in police net for misuse of ambulance

In the wake of embarking on a nationwide consultation meeting for the implementation of a National Ambulance Service to fight maternal and child deaths and strengthen referrals across the country, Health and Sanitation Ministry led by their dynamic Minister, Dr. Abu Bakarr Fofanah for the second time has apprehended two drivers for the misuse of ambulances. Ambulance detained at the Masiaka Police Station

The second driver this time, Josy Lappia attached to the Endemic Disease Control (EDC) Unit in Bo was caught carrying goods and passengers on board the ambulance with registration number AGV 662 Toyota Land Cruiser along the Bo-Masiaka highway.

What some people may perhaps described as an irony or practical evidence of what the Minister presented to stakeholders in Bo south and eastern regions on the misuse of ambulance was that of the previous offence of the first driver carrying onboard charcoal, and on Wednesday March 9, 2016 from his way to Freetown after his meetings in Kenema and Bo trapped Josy Lappia who is currently in Police custody expected to appear in court on Friday March 11, 2016 at Masiaka, Port Loko district
