Sierra Leoneans in Nigeria pray for Pres. Koroma & Sierra Leone

A cross section of Sierra Leoneans residing in different parts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Friday 23rd and Sunday 25th respectively joined the Jamatt  of Ahmadiyya Muslim  Central Mosque in Abuja, and the congregation of DUNAMIS international Gospel Centre  in Abuja  to offer special prayers  for the President Ernest Bai Koroma  Government, the  people and  Country, Sierra Leone  in the observance of  her 49th independence anniversary.  (Photo: Sierra Leoneans at the Dunamis International Gospel Center praising God for Sierra Leone’s 49th Independence Anniversary)

During the Juma prayers at the Ahmadiyya Central Mosque, the President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat  Dr. Abdulatif Bussan thanked Allah for Sierra Leone, a West African Country that is not only celebrating its  49th independence anniversary, but also for the country to have people, who can also think of Allah when not in time of trouble. He likened Sierra Leoneans to an event which happened during the time of the Holy Prophet S.A.W.  Who thanked Allah for peace after the war of Badr.

Vice President of the Ahmadiyya Abuja Jamaat Alhaji H.A. Ahmed thanked Allah that the war in Sierra Leone is over and said, “We the Ahmadists are very happy that Sierra Leone is now recovering from the war”.

Alhaji H.A. Ahmed recalled his six years in Sierra Leone and said he served as Head of Chancery at the Nigerian High Commission in Sierra Leone in 1992 – 1998.

After several recitals, Imam A.W. Abid urged the Jamaat to join him and the Sierra Leonean Muslims to recite “Isajah, Quran 110 for peace and prosperity, Allahuma Isrif Anal Wabah Walballah for Allah to impede evil and its planners from penetrating Sierra Leone and Quran 113&114 Qulauzu Birah Bil Falaq and Qulauzu Biral Bil Nas respectively, for progress and development.

On Sunday April 25th at the DUNAMIS International Gospel centre Abuja, Senior Pastor, Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche thanked God that Sierra Leone is now at Peace. He also thanked God through Jesus Christ for the Sierra Leone’s President Ernest Bai Koroma led Government and the people, who are striving very hard to develop Sierra Leone.   

 He cited several biblical passages and thanked God for President Koroma’s move to def declare fasting and prayer at a time (Celebration) when most people always forget about the almighty God. 

He offered special prayers for Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria H.E. Henry O. Macauley, other members of staff of the High Commission and the Sierra Leonean Christian Community who thought of thanking the Almighty God for their country’s 49th Independence Anniversary. On Friday April 23rd, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria H.E. Henry O. Macauley briefed members of the Nigerian press about the Country’s 49th Independence anniversary and highlighted some of the achievements of President Ernest Bai Koroma since his assumption of office, and the activities that characterized the celebration.

In an interview, the coordinator of the Sierra Leone North West Chapter of Sierra Leoneans in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Issa Nabieu Kolleh Kamara said celebrants came from different parts of the thirty six states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to attend both Muslim and Christian prayers.

He paid special tribute to Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner H.E. Henry O. Macauley “for rejuvenating people like us who have been residing in Nigeria without the feel of any authority”.

According to Brother Quadri Shakir Kehinde, Insha Allah, the almighty Allah will richly bless you all.
