Victory Enterprise in development drive
Victory Enterprise is among the most notable companies at the Wellington Industrial Estate in east end Freetown aiding community development in line with their responsibilities prescribed by the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) Sierra Leone.
The company on Wednesday 15th January donated materials to the Wellington Muslim Association (WMA) to renovate their structures.
The donated materials included a large quantity of gallons of paint, school furniture and working tools.
At the presentation ceremony held at the WMA compound at Peacock Farm in Wellington, Member of Parliament for Constitution 097, Hon. Ibrahim Nox Sankoh, said the donation came about following a letter which the WMA Youth Organization wrote him sometime January last year requesting for paint to renovate their structures.
The honorable MP disclosed that after lobbying some companies at the Wellington Industrial Estate to come to the aid of WMA, Victory Enterprise offered to provide materials for the renovation.
Hon. Ibrahim Nox Sankoh commended the role WMA has played in his political leadership such as providing accommodation for public meetings, while he assured the mission of his continuous support to development at he will continue to solicit assistance for the Mission’s development.
The MP also expressed thanks and appreciation to Victory Enterprise for its continuous contribution to community development in Constituency 097.
He appealed to the company to also aid the manpower for the renovation of the WMA schools.
In his statement, the Principal of WMA Secondary School, Mr. Abdul Aziz Kamara, who received the donation, thanked the Almighty Allah for making such provision for the Mission.
The Principal generally paid homage to leaders whom he said deserve respect though they are not perfect.
“When you disrespect a leader, you have disrespected the leadership of God,” he asserted, adding, “Our leaders thought of us as a mission and as a school through Victory Enterprise that now knows that there is WMA and it happened through our leaders.”
Mr. Kamara advised that people should not hate leaders but to bless them.
“We also appreciate the efforts of Victory Enterprise and our youth organization that initiated the project,” the Principal said.
Presenting the donated materials to the Principal, the Marketing Manager of Victory Enterprise, Mr. Krishna Gurnani, affirmed that they will not only support the renovation work but will also provide the mission with school furniture.
The Marketing Manager assured that they will continue to contribute to the development of WMA in future.
Mr. Krishna Gurnani, who was representing the General Manager of the company, Mr. Rakish Gurnani, said they have been funding community development projects in the Wellington Community over the years, such as the construction of drainages and the electrification of streets.
He disclosed that since 2010, they have been fully complying with their public disclosure that maps out the types of community development projects they should undertake annually.
Mr. Krishna Gurnani said the donated materials are worth over Le12, 000, 000.00 (Twelve million Leones).
Speaker after speaker showered praises on Victory Enterprise for the donation, and Hon. Nox Sankoh for promoting community development in his constituency with support from companies complying with their public disclosures.
