Dec 4/5/6 – OUR WORLD : SURVIVING EBOLA with Tulip Mazumdar
The Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone lasted 18 months and killed nearly 4,000 people. More than 4,000 others were infected, and survived. The country was declared free of the disease in November but, despite joy at the declaration, thousands of survivors now face a bleak future after losing loved ones, livelihoods and their health. Many are suffering serious after effects, and are shunned by suspicious neighbours. Reporting from Sierra Leone, BBC’s global health correspondent Tulip Mazumdar this weekend on the BBC, Our World, will focus on Ebola.
