Parliament Approves Five Presidential Nominees

Freetown, November 11 (SLENA) – Parliament on Tuesday 10th November 2015 adopted the Twenty Second Report of the Committee on Appointments and the Public Service, approving five presidential nominees to serve some public institutions in the country.

These presidential nominees were approved through a collection of voices:

  • Mr. Raymond Nathaniel Smith – Chairman, National Conservation Trust Fund (NCTF)
  • Mr. Brima Koroma – Chairman, Sierra Leone Postal Services (SALOPST)
  • Mr. Emile Adeotie Lasite – Board Member, National Public Procurement Authority
  • Mr. Tapsiru Lamin Dainkeh – Board Member, SALHOC and
  • Ing. Gertrude Sara Trudy Morgan, Member, National Commission for Privatization

The approved nominees were interviewed by the Committee on Appointments and Public Service.

Making his contribution to the debate, Hon. Komba Kodoeyoma commended the nominees and urged them to carry out their responsibilities in the best interests of the country.

Hon. Isata Kabia also praised President Koroma for nominating good Sierra Leoneans to strategic institutions that are supposed to do well in our post-ebola recovery programmes.

Both acting Majority and Minority Leaders of the House appreciated the nominees and urged them to deliver for the people of Sierra Leone.

Upon the approval of the nominees, Speaker of Parliament, Hon. SBB Dumbuya congratulated them and wished them well in their new assignments.
