APC Youths endorse long term Chairmanship for President Koroma

Detractors that are trying to taint the good image of the All Peoples Congress Party national Youth League President should now be bowing their heads in shame after report revealed that President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has no intension of going for a third term. It was recently some ill-motivated individuals have been making allegations against the Person of Bai Mamoud Bangura who has fought tooth and nail to ensure that he work with the President in his vision and agenda for development.

A communique from the recently concluded annual conference in Makeni and signed by the National and all Regional Party Heads Youth League heads sates “the building on his popularity and his astute leadership, to ensure the continued unity and cohesion of the party, President Ernest Bai Koroma’s position as Chairman and Leader of the party be preserved for as long as it takes to consolidate such unity and cohesion.”

According to the Youth League President, the Chairmanship of President Koroma is currently contributing to the unity of the party. His leadership, he said is amending wounds and has maintain the values of the party.

Giving him more time will help sustain the party membership and bring more people on board his development agenda.

The Communique further states “the APC Youth League is thankful for the recognition, appointments and other opportunities President Koroma has given to the youth of the APC and his support towards the success of the conference.”

“The strength of every political party lies in the wisdom of its elders while its future lies in the strength of its youth. The guarantee to that future however lies in the willingness of the youth to learn from their elders and their capacity to translate their knowledge into actions that are aligned with the overall objectives of the party,” the youth states.

The APC Youth League has 525 Operational Channels established across the country and the Union of Students happens to be one of its largest constituencies.

As President of the Youth League, Bai Mamoud Bangura has called on party members to make good use of the current gains they have and forget the past.

“We should not take the party to opposition again,” he said, and further states that President Koroma has done a lot for the nation and the young people should replicate the same so that the country will become a paradise on earth.

President Koroma in his address at the conference made it clear that the Youth League is part of the administration of the party that has a key role to play to maintain peace and unity. He warned against division amongst them.
