Ambassador Wurie send message to Maada Bio and others

Leading contender for the Sierra Leone People Party (SLPP) Flagbrearship Ambassador Umaru Bond Wurie has expressed satisfaction that his fellow contender Julius Maada Bio is in town so they can help to bring a lasting Peace into the party, and also to put an end to the rise of violence in the party before going for the delegate conference anytime next year.

The seasoned diplomat who hails from Gbinti in the Port Loko district said this is the time they should all should come together and preach the Peace among our supporters and sympathizers as they are the once who are the major actors of violence not we the aspirants. We have to see ourselves as a family and a formidable party ready to take the helm of affairs of the country come 2018.

I have a role to play, Bio, Yumkellah, Alie Kabba, John Benjamin, Andrew Keili, Alpha Timbo we all have a massive role to play if we want to see unity, Tranquility and sanity in our beloved party as our supporters do listen to us whenever we speak, SLPP he noted is not all about me, me but we should at all-time put the party first.

The recent rate of violence is fast becoming a synonym for the SLPP is not what the pioneers like Sir Milton and Albert Margai had in mind, when they coined the motto: One People, One country.

The latest installment of violence among party or aspirants supporters of the SLPP is nothing but short of a disgrace to the intellect and dignity of well- meaning members of the party in general , the country in particular. Sadly enough, the oldest political party in our country is not only becoming a joke, but also sleeps walking itself in a political coma former Ambassador to the United Nations highlighted.

The diplomat who cut across all section of life maintained that they are opened up to any dialogue or nationwide tour in rebranding the SLPP and to give it a new facelift of Peace, Love, and unity as this only can be achieve through a concerted efforts of all the aspirants as we too have a role to play in the unification of our beloved Party.

Maada Bio who has been out of the country for seven months has just returned over the weekend and has been preaching about “A New Direction” that fine but we need to get things straight without Peace how can the New Direction work. The degree of infighting in the SLLP will only lead to one thing and one thing only: eat itself up into political oblivion. If the SLPP cannot get its house in order, what hope is there for it to keep our country and its people as one?

Ambassador Umaru Bundu Wurie, fondly and commonly called Bond Wurie was born and grew up in a working class family from Gbinti, Dibia Chiefdom of Port Loko District in Northern Sierra Leone. A graduate of the Government Secondary School, Bo – more commonly known as Bo School; in the Southern province of Sierra Leone.

With humility, but yet with rugged determination and clear intention, I am presenting myself for the leadership of my country’s proud Grand Old Party, The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) founded on the principle of One Country, One People fame and glory. I am asking for your support to head the party, which will then accord me with the privilege and life time opportunity to be the party’s candidate for the Presidency of our beloved Republic of Sierra Leone in the coming elections of 2018. I am currently a Grand Chief Patron in the party, and fully active and paid up member since 1996 he said.
