Kuwait Donates to Flood Victims

The Government and people of Kuwait through with support from the International Islamic Charitable Organization have donated food and non food items worth of over two hundred thousand Euros to flood victims in Sierra Leone.

The donation was noted as one of the most outstanding to the vulnerable people that recently suffered from the rain storm in recent times in the country.

According to reports, the donation ceremony was held on Thursday 1st October this year at the Presidential Lounge, National Stadium in Freetown.

Before delivering the donated items, Regional Director of Kuwait, Dr. Ekramy Hefnawy said that the people of Kuwait are passionate over the natural tragedy in Sierra Leone especially the recent Ebola outbreak and flooding and that their charitable organization thought it necessary to help flood victims with those available items.

He furthered that the people of Kuwait intends to render more help to the vulnerable in Sierra Leone especially victims of natural disaster as an effort to ameliorate their living standards adding that it is there will to render humanitarian gesture to homeless and suffering masses around the world especially in Sierra Leone.

Receiving the gift on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone, the Minister of State, Office of Vice President, Mr. Mohamed Alie Bah thank the Government and people of Kuwait for what he described as a timely intervention adding that he was elated as a result of the demonstration by the Government of Kuwait.

He encouraged them to continue rendering their help to these flood victims and assures them that through the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs and the Office of National Security (ONS), the donated items will reach the beneficiaries as the government of Sierra Leone currently works to relocate these victims.
