Liberia welcomes Vice President Foh

Monrovia, Sept. 25 (SLENA) – Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, Hon. Joseph Nyuma Boakai on Tuesday 22ND September 2015 heartily welcomed his Sierra Leonean counterpart, Hon. Victor Bockarie Foh in the Liberian capital, Monrovia.

Sierra Leone’s Vice President is in Liberia for the award of an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Philosophy at the Cuttington University in Gbarnga, Bong County in Liberia.

Vice President, Ambassador Foh and entourage were received at the Robertfield International Airport by a galaxy of Ambassadors including Sierra Leone Ambassador designate to Liberia, Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, Liberians and Sierra Leoneans living in Monrovia.

Speaking to newsmen in Liberia at the Presidential Lounge, Robert International Airport, Hon. Vice President Foh expressed on behalf of His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and the people of Sierra Leone felicitation to the President, Madam Eleen Johnson Serleaf, her Vice, ambassadors, members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, the government and the people of Liberia.

He thanked them for according him and his entourage a rosy welcome and warm reception.

He told the media that he was in the country to be decorated with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Philosophy by the Cuttington University in recognition of his humanitarian gestures and efforts in peace building in the sub-region.

He applauded the University for recognizing and conferring in him a Doctorate degree, noting that upon receipt of the award, he will not relent in sparing his time and energy to promote peace build efforts not only in his home country but throughout the sub-region and beyond.

Vice President Foh expressed thanks and appreciation to the Cuttington University for developing an excellent academic relationship with one of Sierra Leone’s Universities, Njala University, especially in the area of Forestry and Agriculture since 1970.

He assured that the conferment of the honorary doctorate degree will not only benefit him in particular but will enhance academic excellence in the two sister countries especially for the their youthful population.
