President Koroma assures flood victims

President Koroma has assured the over 3,800 flood victims in the National Stadium that the time has come for them to be relocated out of the slums.

While assuring the victims on Thursday, September 17, the President reminded them of government’s long plan to relocate them from the disaster prone areas. He thanked God for saving their lives and asked them whether they wanted to die in the slums and they thunderously replied in the negative.

He told them to imagine what would have happened to them had the rain flood disaster struck at night.

He assured them that this is a perfect opportunity to relocate them and expressed hope that they would not resist this time. The victims unanimously and jubilantly assured the president that they were this time very prepared to be relocated to wherever the government chose for them.

President Koroma also visited various other areas where the flood victims have been temporarily encamped and gave them a similar message.
