APC camaraderie and comradeship
Although H.E. President Koroma, has on various occasions tried to instill discipline into the party members who stretch out tentacles of anti-party mannerisms and dishonesty, there is one thing that he would find difficult to challenge: the spirit of camaraderie and comradeship, which has become the unifying force of the party members and it is one of the attributes of the APC that needs commendation and emulation by other parties, especially the big brother, SLPP, who are tearing each other apart for leadership, as if the only way to serve ones nation is by being the president.
In Makeni, over the weekend, 4th and 5th of September, a mammoth, crowd of the APC party members, supports, the diplomatic corps, opposition party members and government functionaries gathered in the northern capital city of Makeni, to witness yet another historic milestone in the history of the party: the turning the sod for the northern party headquarters by H.E, the President.
This event, which took place on Saturday, the 5th of September, 2015, was preceded by a cocktail dinner on Friday, the 4th of September, 2015, at the prestigious Wusum Hotel.
African politics is about bringing development to the people and not about litigation and deep felt animosity among party members.
This political landmark of the party (APC) will surely go down in the history as one of the achievement of the party during the reign of H.E, the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, whose home, Bombali, host the northern capital of the party. It might be just a mere feat but the political significance is great and encouraging for other leaders to come.
Funds for the eventual construction of the historical landmark are expected to come from the members and from donations of party sympathizers at home and abroad.
Given the present trend for exotic architecture in Makeni, one needs not doubt that the party headquarters would emerge as one of the state of art architectural noble edifices in the region, if not Africa, to add to the already nascent surge for aesthetic value that presently pervades the city.
