New LUC for Aberdeen Police
The former aide-de-camp of Vice President Samuel Sam Sumana, Superintendent Edward Aia Samandia was last Thursday appointed by the Inspector General of Police, Francis Alieu Munu as the Local Unit Commander of the newly established Police Division at Aberdeen.
The decision to appoint Superintendent Samandia was arrived at by executive members and Board of the Sierra Leone Police Force. The senior cop has since his appointment started work. The senior Police Officer was enlisted in the Sierra Leone Police force (SLP) in 1987, and since he passed out, has served various police departments. He was member of the SLP that served in the peace keeping mission in south Sudan.
He is a graduate from Fourah Bay College and during deployment at the Eastern Police Station as Operational Officer, brought security in that part of the city.
The new LUC assured Journalists over the weekend that he will work diligently to serve the people of this country.
He called on all Sierra Leoneans to join him make Aberdeen Community and beyond a crime-free community.
It could be recalled that prior to the appointment of Mr. Samandia, Aberdeen had been engulfed in very serious crimes ranging from rape, murder to robbery.
