Rapists on the rampage

Sierra Leone courts are flooded with rape cases and other related sexual offences; our rapists are apparently on the rampage sparing no soul, these apparent sex maniacs have now resorted to sexually penetrating and abusing infants, a recent case involving a forty- year- old man who confessed sexually abusing a six year child.

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs has a very high stockpile of rape cases that keep mounting every blessed day. In Sierra Leone today, don’t be shocked by news that a boy has raped his biological mother or that a father has raped his biological mother or that a husband has raped his mother-in-law; such incidents no longer make news as they have become usual nowadays. It appears many Sierra Leoneans have gone sexually mad.

The Sierra Leone Judiciary has jailed many rapists but their number keeps growing like Hydra’s head. In spite of all the efforts exerted by the Social Welfare Ministry, and Non-Governmental Organizations, the social problem continues unabated.

In fact, we now have a whole former Deputy Minister of Education, Mamoud Tarawalie standing trial for allegedly raping a university student.

But have these rapists decided to go on the rampage? Are they being tempted by the near naked of our immorally dressed ladies who parade the streets with transparent dresses that expose their nakedness? Or is it that our rapists have allowed their sex orgies to govern them instead of the other way round? Or may I be right to suggest that some our rampaging rapists are too poor to afford the high expenses of marrying wives? Are they just natural sex-maniacs who have a natural irresistible tendency to have sex with whosoever they can lay hands on? Our worst and most immoral and incredible sex-maniacs are those who have been going to the crazy extent of having sex with lower animals like goats and fowls; raping them with cruelty and impunity. This has been happening in this country tough it sounds incredible. The manifested immorality of many Sierra Leoneans seems to have broken the record of the Biblical Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed by God. We should be careful!
